I went to one local mechanic to change my break pads, and they said that I would need my bearings replaced as well, which caught me off guard since there were no indicators prior to this that it would be required, so I took my vehicle to Capitol Tire and Service for a second opinion. Rather than just taking the money for performing the service and piggy backing off of the original mechanic's recommendation, they gave their own honest assessment that my bearings were probably fine for the time being, but that I should keep an eye on them over the next few months. Thanks to their honest review, I was able to explore more options and learned that my bearings were still covered under warranty, so I ended up saving a lot of money. In my opinion, the value of a mechanic is more often in the work they choose not to perform (out of honesty) rather than in the work they do perform. They are very friendly, and we will definitely be going to them for any future service on our vehicle.
