We at Capitol Tire are exploring the reprogramming of engine management computers. Getting the "latest and greatest" program for your vehicle is what we will do. When a computer program of any kind is created, the writer only has information that is available at that point in time to use in the construction of the program. As that computer and program is put into use, glitches, flaws, deficiencies and opportunities for improvement become apparent. Patches or downloads become available when a fix is discovered to a problem that has occurred on a regular basis. We update our home computers - why not the ones in our vehicles? They are called "reflashes" in the automotive world.
It is a new but growing area and will continue to grow by leaps and bounds. We are making the commitment of resources and energy to keep abreast of it as well as other technologies as they emerge.
